THE BROADWAY BRIEF | March 31, 2026

Yesterday was a little uglier than we’d like, and there’s no sense dressing it up.

We finished 2-3 on the card, and two of the misses were the kind that make you want to throw the remote through a wall.

The Phillies gave us an absolute junkyard performance. No life, no timely execution, no help. Just one of those flat, irritating showings that buries a ticket and wastes everybody’s time.

Then there was the Mavs +8.5.

Looked like a workable number, right up until Anthony Edwards checked back into the lineup before tip and the whole damn thing turned into a runaway. That’s the kind of pregame swing that can flip the script in a hurry, and that one did exactly that.

Not ideal. Not fun. But also not something we’re going to chase.

That’s the job in this game...take the hit, call it what it is, and move on without letting one sloppy card turn into two.

We’ve built this thing by staying selective, staying honest, and not pretending every bad beat was some grand conspiracy. Yesterday had some bad reads, some bad luck, and some bad timing. It happens.

Now we reset, tighten the screws, and get back to finding the spots that actually deserve our money.

Let’s get into today’s card.
