THE BROADWAY BRIEF | March 12, 2026

Quick note from Unc…

Yesterday finished 1–1, but the soccer result was one of those matches that perfectly illustrates why betting can be such a strange game sometimes.

We had Man City / Real Madrid BTTS.

The match ends 3–0… and BTTS still dies.

City controlled 58% possession, generated 10 corners, put 5 shots on target, and still somehow walked off the pitch with zero goals. That’s one of those box scores where you stare at it afterward and just shake your head.

Sometimes the script plays out exactly the way the numbers say it should… and the finishing just doesn’t cooperate.

That’s variance.

Thankfully the board gave us some balance with McNeese State vs SFA slipping under the number, which salvaged the card and left us 1–1 on the day.

No damage done.

And that’s the key with this approach — we’re not chasing outcomes or overreacting to a weird match result. The process stays the same. We identify environments where the game script naturally leans a certain direction and let the long-term math do the work.

The Brief is 12-11 for March. It's winning, but it is time up the tempo with some newer system plays.

Today’s board brings a few of those environments back into focus.

A couple conference tournament spots where tempo historically tightens up, and a European matchup where the structure points toward a much more open game state.

4 plays on the board. 3 College Basketball. 1 Soccer.

Let’s get into today’s card.
